Training and experience
My path to becoming a therapist started in Bristol, where I studied for a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and gained an understanding of theory, research, and the application of psychological science. Several years later, I completed a Master's in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Keele University, focusing on theory and therapeutic skills, and I graduated with distinction.
I have since completed Levels 1 and 2 of Internal Family Systems (IFS) training, an approach that aligns with my therapeutic values and offers a respectful, non-pathologising way of working.
I work in private practice, have been part of a counselling team at a women’s refuge, and volunteered for Macmillan Cancer Support with those affected by cancer. I also often work with people from the LGBTQIA+ community and have experience supporting queer people.
Drawing from thousands of hours of client work, I have worked with people navigating anxiety, panic attacks, depression, burnout, loneliness, trauma, loss, grief or bereavement, major life transitions, relationship difficulties, low self-confidence, ADHD or Autism, chronic illness, queer experiences, and spiritual exploration, to name a few.
As a member of the BACP, I am committed to best practice. I participate in regular supervision, take part in continued training, and work within the BACP's ethical framework. I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and have practice insurance.
