My work is rooted in the person-centred approach, and I appreciate that each person and their experiences are unique.
Person-centred therapy offers a chance to see ourselves, how we think, what we feel, our relationships with others, and how we communicate, with more clarity. With a deeper sense of who we are comes the freedom to seek authenticity, and with it, the opportunity to find a life that fits and fulfils.
Sessions may involve talking, becoming aware of the present moment, noticing the habitual parts of your experience, and being curious about feelings, thoughts, dreams, imagery, metaphors, and movement. Some may find a few sessions beneficial, while others may choose to continue in therapy for longer.
I work intuitively, offering time for reflection with warmth, honesty and authenticity. You’ll set the pace and decide the content of each session and we will explore together what is important to you without an agenda.
In my practice, I create space for intersections of identity and work affirmatively with gender, sexuality and relationship diversity.
I see the therapeutic relationship (between the client and counsellor) as a container for exploring how we relate to others, healing relational wounds, and a space to courageously look at things which might feel too big to look at on our own.
I am mindful of how trauma can be stored in the body and take a holistic approach. The body may be the vessel of suffering, but it is also our greatest ally in healing from it.
I am deeply fascinated by philosophy, archetypes, mythology, spirituality, and the search for meaning. Concepts from Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, neurolinguistics, existential philosophy, and Jungian ideas (such as how we experience our dreams) also weave their way into my practice.
It is my hope that wherever you begin your therapy journey, you’ll leave feeling that you understand and accept yourself better. And, through our work together, you have will the opportunity to reconnect with yourself, nurture your self-worth, manage stress and anxiety, navigate past challenges, forge deeper connections, and find wisdom and healing.
